Providing essential educational resources, all designed in-house by our team to meet the needs of children and communities, fostering effective learning and engagement.
Designed with Purpose: Our In-House Learning Materials
At Little Steps, Big Dreams (LSBD), we believe that effective early learning begins with materials that are thoughtfully designed, culturally relevant, and built for real Nigerian contexts. Every book, activity sheet, and learning kit used in our outreaches is created in-house by our team of educators and designers.
We do not rely on generic imported resources. Instead, we develop simple, engaging, and durable materials that address the specific learning gaps we observe on the ground, from alphabet recognition and number sense to pencil control and confidence-building. These resources are tested in community settings, refined based on child feedback, and optimized for low-resource environments where access to quality books is limited.
Our materials are available upon request. Organizations, schools, NGOs, and community groups working in early childhood development can partner with us to access or adapt these resources for their own programs. Whether you need foundational literacy/numeracy books, activity packs, or customized kits, we can collaborate to strengthen learning outcomes in your community.

Early Stimulation Activities
At the heart of every LSBD outreach is Early Childhood Development, with a strong focus on children aged 3–8 years (and adaptable for younger ages through caregiver guidance). Our approach targets foundational brain development, emotional nurturing, fine motor skills, and joyful early learning.
Through hands-on, play-based sessions, children engage with specially designed materials that make abstract concepts concrete and fun. In the Koiwo Community Outreach (Modakeke, Osun State, March 2026), we reached 60 children aged 3–8 in small-group sessions. They practiced alphabet recognition, letter-sound association, guided tracing, number recognition, and counting with physical objects — all using our in-house Literacy Book (Alphabet-based) and Numeracy Book (Counting & Numbers).
These books feature large, clear visuals, repetitive practice pages, and simple instructions that caregivers can easily follow at home. Results were powerful: 96.15% of participating children demonstrated strong letter and number recognition, while 96.1% showed visible improvement in writing control and accuracy after just one session.
Parents and caregivers also receive guidance on responsive caregiving, turning everyday moments into learning opportunities. Our materials are intentionally designed to bridge the gap between one-day outreaches and sustained home practice, helping close early learning gaps before they compound.
Academic Reinforcement for School-Age Children
LSBD extends support beyond early years to ensure school-age children (9–16 years) build solid foundations in literacy and numeracy. In Koiwo, we provided targeted academic reinforcement for 18 older learners, including reading practice, basic comprehension, sentence construction, and arithmetic.
A striking observation was a 16-year-old in JSS1 who was approximately 4–5 years behind expected levels — a clear reminder of how unaddressed foundational gaps grow over time. Our in-house materials help prevent this by offering level-appropriate, engaging content that rebuilds confidence and skills.
We design supplementary activity books and practice sheets that volunteers and teachers can use flexibly. These resources are available for request to support after-school programs, tutoring initiatives, or catch-up sessions in underserved communities.

Community and Caregiver Involvement
Strong foundations require engaged families. Our in-house designed take-home kits — including literacy and numeracy books, writing and coloring pencils, and a durable tote bag — empower caregivers to continue the learning journey beyond the outreach day.
In Koiwo, despite preparing for 40 children, we reached 78, and every child left with a personalized kit to practice daily. Caregivers (14 attended dedicated sessions) received practical tools and knowledge to support their children’s growth within budget constraints.
These kits and accompanying guidance materials are a hallmark of LSBD’s approach and can be requested as part of broader community programs.
Impact That Lasts
Our in-house design process ensures every resource is:
Culturally relevant and visually appealing to Nigerian children
Simple enough for low-literacy caregivers to use
Focused on repetition, hands-on practice, and confidence building
Cost-effective and scalable for larger outreaches
In Koiwo alone, we achieved 96.15% success in core learning indicators and distributed 78 kits that will support continued practice at home. This model has proven that well-designed, context-appropriate materials can deliver high engagement and early wins even in resource-limited settings.
Request our materials for your next outreach, school program, or community initiative. Whether you need full kits, individual books, or customized adaptations, LSBD is ready to partner so more children can experience the joy and power of strong early foundations.
